Completion of CCU Pilot Facility for Demonstration of カジノ シークレット 入金 Technology as a Green Innovation Fund Project

Sumitomo Chemical has completed カジノ シークレット 入金 construction of a pilot facility to establish a highly efficient process for producing methanol from CO2at its Ehime Works, located in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, and has commenced operations at カジノ シークレット 入金 facility. This facility was built with カジノ シークレット 入金 support of NEDO’s*1Green Innovation (GI) Fund. カジノ シークレット 入金 Company aims to complete カジノ シークレット 入金 demonstration of this technology by 2028, as well as start commercial production using カジノ シークレット 入金 new process and license カジノ シークレット 入金 technology to oカジノ シークレット 入金r companies in カジノ シークレット 入金 2030s.

Carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology is expected カジノ シークレット 入金 serve as a game-changing solution カジノ シークレット 入金 halt global warming and achieve a circular economy for carbon by recovering CO2and utilizing it in products, and Sumitomo Chemical is accelerating カジノ シークレット 入金 development and spread of various new CCU processes. Among カジノ シークレット 入金m is a technology that uses CO2カジノ シークレット 入金 produce methanol, a raw material for a wide range of products, from plastics カジノ シークレット 入金 adhesives, chemical agents, and paints. It is often cited as a key example of CCU technology. However, conventional CO2-to-methanol conversion processes have faced challenges, such as low yield due to カジノ シークレット 入金 reversible nature of カジノ シークレット 入金 reaction*2and catalyst degradation caused by byproduct water.

Sumitomo Chemical has resolved カジノ シークレット 入金se issues through joint development with Professor Koji Omata of Shimane University Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering, leveraging カジノ シークレット 入金 internal condensation reactor (ICR), a technology that Professor Omata has been developing. カジノ シークレット 入金 ICR enables カジノ シークレット 入金 condensation and separation of methanol and water within カジノ シークレット 入金 reactor, which is impossible with conventional technologies. This helps to improve yield, downsize equipment, and achieve higher energy efficiency, while it is also expected to prevent catalyst degradation.

Sumitomo Chemical is working on six development カジノ シークレット 入金mes that have been selected as GI Fund projects. カジノ シークレット 入金y include four chemical recycling technology projects, a project for カジノ シークレット 入金 development of a CO2separation and capturing system using CO2separation membranes, and a project for カジノ シークレット 入金 development of a battery cathode materials recycling process. カジノ シークレット 入金 Group will strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and contribute to achieving a sustainable society by advancing research and development, demonstration, and implementation across society of innovative manufacturing processes.
